Drupal Development
Computer Kingdom provides Drupal development, customisation, and ongoing support for businesses and institutions in Pune and across India. Drupal is the CMS of choice for large content-heavy sites, government and university portals, publishing platforms, and anything that requires custom content types, complex permissions, and integration with enterprise systems.
We work with both Drupal 10 and legacy Drupal 7 & 8 sites, including migrations to modern Drupal versions.
Drupal Work We Do
Common engagements include:
- Custom Drupal sites — from-scratch builds with custom content types and taxonomy
- Publishing platforms — multi-author editorial workflows, content staging, versioning
- Institutional portals — universities, government, NGOs, large membership organisations
- Multi-site Drupal — multiple sites sharing codebase and user data
- Custom module development — business-specific functionality, integrations, APIs
- Drupal migrations — upgrade from Drupal 7/8 to Drupal 10
- Headless / decoupled Drupal — Drupal as back-end, React/Vue/Next.js front-end
- Performance & security — caching, CDN, security hardening, audits
Our Process
Every project follows a clear, predictable path. You will always know what stage we are in and what to expect next.
- Discovery & requirements — we meet with your team, map the existing process, and define what “done” looks like.
- Design & planning — architecture, deliverables, technology choices, and milestones are documented before work begins.
- Iterative execution — we work in short cycles and share progress regularly, so feedback is incorporated early.
- Quality assurance — every deliverable is reviewed and tested before it reaches you.
- Deployment & handover — we handle go-live, migration, and training for your team.
- Support & maintenance — post-launch, we remain available for fixes, enhancements, and ongoing support.

Frequently Asked Questions
When does Drupal make sense over WordPress?
Drupal fits when your site has large amounts of structured content, complex user permissions, multiple content editors, or deep integration with enterprise systems. For a typical SMB brochure site or WooCommerce store, WordPress is usually simpler and cheaper.
Should we upgrade from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10?
Yes, if the site is still actively used. Drupal 7 end-of-life has passed. Upgrading is not a simple version bump — it is essentially a rebuild with migration of content, users, and media. We plan and execute this end-to-end.
What is “headless Drupal” and do we need it?
Headless means using Drupal as a content back-end while a separate front-end (React, Vue, Next.js) renders the site or app. It is useful when the front-end is complex, when you need to serve the same content to web and mobile apps, or when editorial and front-end teams have different release cycles. Most sites do not need it.
Can you build complex content workflows and permissions?
Yes. Drupal’s strengths include workbench moderation, content types, fields, taxonomies, and role-based access control. We design these structures up front to match your actual editorial process.
Is Drupal slow?
Properly configured Drupal is fast. Out-of-the-box it is not optimised. We tune caching (internal page cache, Redis/Memcache, Varnish, CDN), optimise the database, and profile slow queries to bring performance up to production quality.
Do you offer ongoing Drupal maintenance?
Yes. Maintenance covers core and module security patches, minor upgrades, backups, uptime monitoring, and a set number of content/functionality changes per month.
